Casa Felipe is a large 3-4 bedroom house offering spacious, self-catering summer or winter holiday accommodation on the island of La Gomera in the Canary Islands.
With high quality furnishings, beautiful scenery and deserted beaches it is ideal for a quiet family holiday.
It is situated in the Laguna area of the quiet old fishing village of Playa de Santiago, the only south-facing town on the small island of La Gomera. This gives it the best swimming and diving opportunities, as well as fantastic walking. The house is situated in a small street, close to all the village amenities and the beaches, and fronts onto a banana plantation. It is fortunate to be on one of the easier access roads (some areas are a challenging climb).
There are three spacious bedrooms, two of which open onto the balcony. The balcony faces southwest giving superb views across the barranco (dry riverbed, except during periods of excessive rainfall - very rare), where bananas grow, to the sea (only a couple of minutes stroll away) and up the valley to the Garajonay peak.
The house has no other buildings in front, giving it a private, uninterrupted vista which can be enjoyed from the outdoor table and chairs. A delightful spot for meals, soaking up the sun, evening sunsets and stargazing.
La Gomera is one of the sunniest Canary Islands. This small, rounded dome of an island, with ancient volcanic features like the Garajonay peak (now a National Park and World Heritage site with unique botanical features - four hundred floral species, including Canary Holly and Willows, and 16 varieties of Laurel) is the blissfully tranquil partner to the other Canary Islands and is the only island that is volcanically dormant.
La Gomera has all that a first-class holidaymaker could wish for, without the tourist overload of other destinations. Gomera benefits from the stable, luxurious climate of the Canary Islands. It is beautifully warm throughout the year with little seasonal variation, although the temperature can rise above 30 degrees C in the summer.
